More on Falls...

Hey Carvedog,
That is an interesting idea indeed. Especially considering that the weekend after I posted this originally, some local fellas headed up to Falls Creek, had a run-in with the landowners and then proceeded to argue and then "utilize" Montana creek access laws and wade up the creek to the falls. You can imagine how the landowners might feel when snubbed like this, and, at this point, that action seems to have driven the final nail into the coffin on Falls Creek...
We are still trying to get some face time, but obviously this latest Huckfest maneuver has had a hugely negative impact on our efforts. The sad thing is that those involved seemed to clearly know that there were access issues on the creek before heading up there and still chose to behave in an antagonisitc fashion...
Perhaps your idea may be the only possible solution up that way, though I doubt landowners will want to hassle with checking passes and I.D.'s or calling in authorities to do the same. But I will surely give it a try if they will listen to us at all.
Thanks for your input.

Hey Mike, Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help keep West Rosebud from becoming an issue. We have had fairly good luck with establishing protocols with landowners and the USFS depending on the situation, and then spreading the word. you can reach me at thanks, and please let me know what you find out when you speak with the landowners.

All you need in Montana is written permission from the landowner, and they can have "no trespassing" signs up and you are golden. Perhaps you can convince them that if they give it to you in writing, you will always leave it on your dashboard when parked there. Then, if they wander by, no matter what rig you are in, they know if it is someone that they have talked to or not. Just a thought, kind of like special permission for hunting.

There is actually a human being named Tack Van Cleve? That is awesome. Does he play stud poker with Stetson Tanner and Zane Dakota?
