Big, BIG money, as in Henry Kravis is what's different about the White...his 'Westlands" Ranch, all 4,473 acres of it, is smack in the middle of the valley, as are some other high end ranches. Like the lower blue, diversion dams and structure has been set up to prevent floaters from passing thru without touching the bottom. Kravis has a cable the runs across the north fork of the white as it enters his property. I've wanted to take some bolt cutters to it more than once.

You can float the White thru Meeker and on down. Put in upstream and I'll bet the sheriff is there in a matter of minutes. I once had the sheriff called on me as I fished the public easement, simply because I had a pontoon on my truck that someone assumed I'd be using. I guess they don't like to see floatation up there, even if it's in the back of your truck. [/QUOTE]
