Is there going to be a release on NSV for this event? If so, do you know when and how much?
Also, the flow for SSV says 87cfs. I know it is suppoesed to warm up, but it was cold up here in Ned again last night. How much water do you need for that race on Saturday?
Yep, we've had some very nice people from the water district plan for our event. They will supply us with the water we've asked for.
SSV is natural flow but they are pulling 68 cfs off to supply the Left hand diversion
This is how they will effectively create the flows we need for our race
They will turn off the diversion and raise SSV
Last year we had 120 cfs for the race
We will have between 150 and 200 for the race this year
NSV we've asked for 275-350
So Proving grounds and meadow park will be perfect
And the BB hole and A-Hole and O-hole will have
anywhere from 400 to 550 cfs (high end of perfect)
Thank you to all the folks that are allowing this cooperation to happen. We're VERY appreciative
Is 275-350 enough water to run the shelly's cottages section on the NSV. I am planning on coming up to watch the games and was hoping to hit this section while I am there.
Shelly's cottages will be prime......Great run for people that love beautiful class III - III+ creek style. That run is one of the best and those flows will be perfecto
Smokey....Points system would make sense as would a full Creek series for Colorado. Final Race Gore Canyon in August
There’s a II run that starts at the Apple Wood Valley bridge and runs down though the Lyons park and on to the black bear hole.
There’s a III run that starts up the dirt road past the cottages, you’ll come to a left turn that is river side which makes a great put in. Hazards are some tight rocks with possible strainer spots just down stream of the put in then another tight squeeze down stream a ways (could trap wood). You can’t miss it as it looks real suspicious and has an eddy on river right for scouting. Run the dam on the right side unless it's huge it's a bumpy ride.
There’s also a pretty gnarly run (V I think) up stream with a put it at the parking lot to Ralf Price Reservoir. That run is off the road and has some big drops, never seen it first hand though.
The guidebook give some pretty right on detail (The New Testament)
I know one of the authors will be in town for the event
The other is waiting to see if the levels "reach his Minimum"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
