Lyons Outdoor Games 2010... June 11-13th!
SO... The season is starting to trickle in, and just getting some motion happening with the 2010 LOG (Lyons Outdoor Games)... These games continue to grow each year and the SSV creek race is turning into quite a big trophy win. Hoping to see some local talent finally give Tao or Holcombe a run for THE MONEY. Those guys have won every year I think and it would be great to see some local boys take the prize.
There will be several bike events this year again as well. Pump Track and big jump type events are awesome to check out. The track is pretty bad ass...
We are going to do a down river race from Applevalley Bridge down to the Black Bear hole, and that is always a big draw. Not to mention the infamous boater X, which is guaranteed to be hilarious.
As far as kids are concerned, we are expanding the Cadet Rodeo this year with two classes. There are some SIK kids out there these days, and JK will be donating a kayak and other shwag to the winners. If you are teaching kids this summer, be sure to get them fired up for one of the two events. We'll have a pure beginners group, and another more advanced rodeo as well. More on that over the next month or so.
Another SUPER cool thing this year is the USAFK point series. These Freestyle kayak events will be held at the A-hole. USAFK is a point series that now includes LOG as one of the events (FIBARK also) with the final event in Missoula... This will be fantastic as all the top athletes from all over the US will be there to get on Team USA for next years World Championships.
Just a couple more 80 degree days!!!!!!!!!
