Lower Fryingpan

Lower Pan has some water. Never done it. What's it like? Anyone know if the water will hold for the whole weekend? Leroy.

I've been thinking about this stretch as well. Might go take a look at it today, i'll let you know if I do.

It is very boatable with some fun features and should be clean of wood and is largely scoutable from the road if needed. I know it was boated on Wed. night also. Class 3-4, and you will want to go put in above what is called 7 Castles as there is a fun 'slide' rapid (you can see from the road) that you want to put in right above and then another small one below that. You will then need to do a short portage around a big debris fan from a flood there a few years ago and from there it is boatable all the way to Basalt. Most people park over by 7-11 and take out there. Might see you up there tonight for a change of pace.
