Low water Selway info?

We're planning a post-permit season Selway trip this year. Has anyone been down in late August? How low is too low from a kayak self-support perspective? The info I've found seems to be aimed at rafters.

Also, how techie is the whitewater at those flows? Read: what are the chances of an athletic, but mostly non-boater, still being my friend after doing this trip in a sit-on-top with a drybag lashed to the back?

Thanks, SK

I've read some trip reports for this river at low flows. Sounds like it is doable in kayaks. There are some screen shots of real low flows here:
California Creeks - Selway River

I'm also debating if I want to do this river at real low flows in an IK with someone that has canoed and rafted but not kayaked.

Last I heard the drainage was something like the 3rd lowest it has even been since they started keeping track. Haven't seen that at an official website, but that is what I've been told. Good luck.

I haven't looked at these, but this year was shaping up to be pretty devastating for river flows. We've received a ton of snow in the last week, week and a half, so it's better, but nowhere approaching anything close to normal.
I am a river, babe - I've got plenty of time, I don't know where I'm going, I'm just following the lines..... - "We are water" by Shaye
