If you can get the opportunity to take a class from DSE I would jump on it, Nick has a unique approach to the topic.

You can also look at Renaissance Adventure Guides, they run SWR classes on the Front Range Outdoor Adventure Travel Company-Tours,Camps,Lessons-Colorado Guides

I don't know if they do classes in CO, but I attended a class by Sierra Rescue (2 days) because it was highly recommended by friends who had taken the three day class.

Worth every penny.

I took my SWRT Instructor course from Renaissance Adventure Guides last spring. Lyle and the boys are great. I learned way more than I ever expected to.

The Rescue 3 swiftwater class is at RMA starting May 26. The Level 1 technician is a great class taught by rescue professional with real life experiences. It is a bit expensive, but this is no powder puff course. I took the class three years back before I was guide-certified and found the actual river classroom was priceless. You will swim so make sure you've got the gear for a may class and as for their credibility, the class I was in was half firemen being professionally certified.
