Looking for teamates for the Gore National Title Race

Here is the deal:

I want to take a solid shot at winning Gore this year. I have raced twice before and really enjoyed it - but to compete with Behind the Eight Ball (the 5 time consecutive National Champion's and the third placed team at the last World's) you have to start training early. I have the core of the team assembled but I still need a few more paddlers - ideally who live on or near the front range in Colorado. You don't need to have a lot of whitewater experience - just the desire to be part of a team that will put in the time to be legitimate contenders - and drink a lot of beer along the way.

We will also be looking for sponsors and putting up a website with a blog where people can follow our training and progress towards Gore. So even if you don't want to paddle you can at least heckle us online or offer advice, training tips and beer. Send me a message if you're interested.

Cheers,

Sean

Hey, I'm interested. I ran gore last year commercially and have done the GC in a paddle boat. Let me know what else you are looking for.

Matt

Gore Race

Hi Matt,

Basically what we need is people who can train 3-4 days a week - but you can do most of the workouts at your local gym. Winning at Gore is all about fitness. I will be providing training info and workouts. In addition to this we will get together to paddle and probably race at Teva, FIBArk, and maybe some other places leading up to Gore. Teva is quite short compared to Gore - but it is similar to the sprint that is at the World Championships (head to head or three boat heats over a short course). There won't be a lot of group practices, but we will get together on Clear Creek and the Poudre as they are the closest things to Boulder/Denver. We will also do some practice runs on each race course. There will probably also be a couple of flat water practices where we can easily time ourselves and work on technique in a controlled environment (ie no changes in water flow, fixed length courses, ability to turn around and do it again) and so we can evaluate progress.

Where are you living?
