Looking for Safety/Padders for Horsetooth Swim on 8/14

How would you like to paddle in Horsetooth Res on a (hopefully) sunny Sunday morning.
You get to sit in your nice warm boats and watch all the crazy swimmers jump in the water
and swim between 2.4 miles (in either a wetsuit or no wetsuit) or the real crazy's swim the
length of Horsetooth (10K) in just a swimsuit (no wetsuit)?

Sound like fun? The paddlers for the 2.4 mile swim will be manning a zone (very similar to a
triathlon swim) and trying to keep the swimmers herded towards the shore line. The paddlers
for the 10K swim will be paired with 1 swimmer and paddle the length of the Horsetooth
Res. You will be their safety as well as food/water transport for them.

It can really be a fun time and is a fundraiser for the Wingshadow Foundation
(http://www.fortnet.org/Wingshadow/index.html). Which provides housing, education,
counseling, and general help for troubled youth in the Fort Collins area.

Alternately, if you'd rather swim in a lake rather than a river (I know, I know, but where's
the challenge in that?) the 2.4 mile swim still has openings.

For more info on either visit http://www.whswim.com or send mail to me tillema-at-bozopup.com (just replace the -at- with @) or call 970-495-0405. If you or
someone you know is interested in volunteering either as a paddler or on shore, please
contact me.

Thanks
John

This is a really cool event even if you aren't into swimming. I helped out with this last year, and will be helping again this year. They could really use the help. Hope to see you there.
