Depends on where you are from but most think that colorado doesn't have pool drop. But Valleceto is pool drop, I consider runs like OBJ to be pool drop, gore is pool drop at late summer flows. But for the most part colorado has great rapids and good boogie. Its not like that pussy cali shit that has pools for you to gather your shit in.

Tom -

Tick off a good 5 day pool/drop trip to take in the spring. One state I have not been to yet and thinking about for next year. In the Class IV+/V- range.

Most V "pool drop" runs in Colorado are highly flow dependent, and many are not very "good size". That said:

SF Rio Grande 300-400
Upper East 800-1500
Cheeseman 250-350
Upper and lower drops Elevenmile 250-350
Lake Creek,(Brains, Nimby, Caldron) variable, but good now.

How about ...

A good suggestion on a 5 day trip to Cali in the spring. Time frame, runs, etc. Anyone? Can include the jokes if needing. Brush.

Also There is a recent thread that someone posted about COUNTS thoughts on good pool/drop. Coors Falls was one of them.

Though I think that thread was looking for individual drops, not rivers of a pool-drop character.

Yeah, usually someone looking for pool-drop V is not looking for solid and committing V. So, sure, Valle and Cheesman are pool-droppish but does it really count if there's a pool but the river is un-exitable? IMO, OBJ is not pool-drop, it's pool-drop-slide-slide-slide-drop-slide-slide-drop-pool.

CO Drop-Pool runs in the IV+-V+ range:

Upper East-IV+ Slides
Daisy-V- One of the better Pool-Drop runs
Bailey-IV+ with pools between most of the drops, esp at low flows
Elevenmile-Really only 2 V's but the rest is pool-drop
Proving Grounds-Good PD V-
1st Gorge Lime-Better PD V-
Gore-PD V at low-med flows
Escalante-PD V low
Upper Big South-Definitely PD if you hike out at the lake
NF Crystal-PD V <----Runs start getting stout about here
SF Crystal-PD V
South Mineral-PD V
Lake- Kind of PD
Vallecito-Sure, it's PD but it's also gorged in and hella committing
2nd Gorge Lime-Gorged in PD Gnargnar
Yule-More Gorge in PD gnargnar

In my opinion, the good V pool-drop runs (as in east coast style pool-drop) that aren't uber-hard and/or committing are: Upper East, Daisy, Proving Grounds, 1st Gorge Lime, Upper Big South.

Big South is pool drop. Especially the top. Gets a little more continuous in the lower half, but still kinda pool droppy.

I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied...learn to swim!
