looking for paddlers in Grand Juction

Hey I just moved to Grand Junction less than 2 weeks ago and I'm looking for some people in the area to paddle with. I'm up for playboating, river running, rafting. It would be fun to meet some new people and go out and play in the water.

River Monkey,

There is an open pool session at Orchard Mesa Pool at 6:00 p.m to 7:30 tonight and again on the 19th for $7.50. Usually a broad range of paddlers in addition to a group of students from Mesa State. The paddlers may seem kind of serious, but if you approach them, they are all friendly.

Plateau Creek, Buzzard and Escalante will be the first to run this season (and always Westwater). These are III, IV and IV/V respectively (Westy III/-IV). My guess is these will start to run sometime after the 15th (I like to watch overnight lows temps in Mesa, once they sustain above freezing for over a week, things typically start to go). Local play waves don't really start to show until May (you can search 5th street and Silo posts for info and if were lucky big S).

Feel free to PM me if you have questions. Be glad to meet up to paddle Plateau later (I'm a III paddler with a solid roll starting to look at IV's) and will likely be doing some planned trips this summer also.
