looking for info/people to paddle with near fort collins 6/9

My wife and I will be in Fort Collins visiting non paddling family from june 8-12.

We are hoping to paddle something class III or III-IV (parts of the poudre perhaps) on friday the 9th (a week and a half from now).

Can anyone recommend an outfitter nearby where we could rent boats and paddles (the rest of our gear we'll just take on the plane)?

Also we'd like to join up with someone local if possible for the run. Shuttle is so much simpler to set up when someone knows where to go, and paddling with new people is always fun.

Does anyone planning on paddling that day feel like joining up with some mid-atlantic boaters?

Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom,

Here's some numbers for you:

Rocky Mountain Adventure: 800-858-6808

The Mountain Shop: 800-403-5720

I don't recommend one shop over another, I'm a customer of both and have gotten good service at each place. RMA is closer to the river though. The main difference, I've found is in the boats they carry.

My husband and I are part of a crew of husbands and wives, we boat class III-IV. PM me and I'll give you my cell number. As far as I know, we'll be around then. We are in Laramie, but we drive down to the Poudre about 3 nights a week this time of year. We are only available in the evenings, unless I'm working at our branch in Fort Collins, (like today.) There's a ton of cool boaters in the Fort too.

If you don't get any takers here, you also might want to check out coloradokayakers.com.

Deb
