I'm Josh, I work the pool session at Mesa State. We have a great group of paddlers in and out of the school. Everyone from I-V. The local beta for stuff to do now is a couple options.: Locally there is a small wave near the interection of I-70 and 6&50 on the Col. river. Put in behind Mesa Moving Company. 5th street wave is under the 5th street bridge over the Col. R, but its only really good during runoff. Right now there is a wave called Lucky 7. Its is on the Cameo dam on the Col. just east of the powderhor exit. It is just downstream of Big Sur. It is a wave ~4 foot high pile; spin, throw down, loop. Other than that, Shoshone and westy are they only others running right now. As for pool sessions; 7-9:30pm thursday nights at the Mesa State Rec center. You wont have to pay as long as you walk in with a boat, they wont care.
This thursday a couple of us will go out to Lucky 7 before pool sessions if your interested. Give me a call sometime or e-mail, I'm always looking to go boating, untill ski resorts open or if there isn't powder.
