Loma/ruby horsethief float

Doing a 2 day kid's trip this w/e. Any info on campsites would be helpful.
Heard black rock (name?) camp is good on day 2.
we are launching friday, will there be masses?
Any idea of how many river floating hours at 7500 cfs?... 25 miles.

You'll have to take a lot of side hikes to make Black Rocks your second camp site and it's super friggen hot out here right now.
Black Rocks does have the nicest camping and swimming area but you have to get there early to get a good spot.
Yes, the launch will be crowded and the BLM stations a ranger @ the Loma launch on busy days. The float should take 8-10 hours if you go easy.

I would camp at "Cottonwoods" the first night, it is a nice big area river left with alot of large cottonwood trees (with alot of shade) and shouldn't be a problem getting a spot at. The second night you can do Blackrocks or if they are full there is a campground downstream a mile or two on the left with a little beach area accross from McDonald canyon which is nice but is a little small which will make the last day float out a little shorter. Blackrocks will most likely be busy on the weekend but I have never had any problems at the other areas.
