| i scouted that thing - south fork of the rio grande - about four weeks ago and there is a lot of wood in there. one log was in the middle of the one smaller class V entrance drops - that it is either gone or covered with higher water. there are also a lot some sieves that may not be visible at higher flows. if you start higher up on pass creek, i remember at least two that were not runnable at lower flows that are roughly adjacent to the new tunnel. then when pass creek merges with the south fork of the rio, there is another sieve that may also be covered. it is right after the big drop with a lot of wood on the left -- on the very next drop, the left side has a severe sieve that is shaped perfectly to catch a kayak.
be careful if you run this thing, there is a lot more than that log in there to ruin your day. other than that it looks fun as hell. |
