I live up that way and not sure what a good level would be, but it's probably still way too low. It's coming up quickly though, so perhaps soon?

There is a gauge at the take out, and last time I checked about aweek ago it was about six inches below the too low mark. Hopefully soon.

No substitute for a visual, but I've heard people say there's some correlation with SSV as they have similar drainages. I.e. when SSV starts getting some good flows LH will likely be running. My own very ad hoc observations show some truth in this. Given current SSV levels, I would guess LH is pretty damn low.

There is a left hand diversion from SSV.
They do not always correlate it, depends on call for water.
When SSV was run a couple of weeks ago the diversion was OFF and so SSV was higher
They began pulling to Left hand and now they are both low.
Let there be no surprise if Left hand looks VERY DRY for the weekend...This would be assuming natural flow does not increase from snow melt.

The flow is up to Jason's low mark ( he made a gauge on a midriver rock, there is a wooden boardwalk by the takeout parking lot the rock is visible from a picnic table at the upstream end of the boardwalk)I have run it lower but he has better sense. We havn't cleaned it this year but looked relatively clean, still lots of wood partially blocking the river and one major tree a little ways above the bridge before the crux that needs removal to avoid portage,it is in one of the calmest spots so should be easy to get out with several dudes or a chainsaw.SCOUT IT,i mostly car scouted for wood.

James Creek is running good ,looked runnable to me,most of Lefthand is coming down James fork mostly very swift III CREEKIN a few more serious parts, continuous gradient[ steeper than Lefthand?]blind curves w/wood issues looked clean for such a tiny creek though, tight ,minimal eddies, low bridges about half way up to Jamestown.Below the bridges looked clean to Lefty confluence, above section looked more 4 -5 ish .

We are hopefully running Lefthand and maybe part of James Weds.late morning,if interested pm me or Jason/BAGUANINJA

If you go past the takeout in the book there is a log before the culvert that looked bad from the car scout.
