For Front Rangers, the lower Lake Fork reminded me of Clear Creek Canyon. The Lake Fork is bigger and less steep.

The BLM has a sign at The Gate recommending you don’t float from there down to Red Bridge because of the land owner’s attitude and fencing.

[quote="onebakedpotato"]The names I have for the Lake Fork were given to me on my first run in 1991 by the Pike Boys who used to own Tenderfoot Rafting.

Suprise, Ratlesnake, Pinball, Lunch Box ("because it will eat your lunch"-Steve Pike. I was a customer and he was really trying to get me psyched. I always thought it was a funny line)

ha ha steve, good guy. yeah, i learned my names from 3RR, so its understandable...look how many names the Ark river rapids have.

i agree about adding the gate stretch on, thats actually a very beautiful run. i dig the whole transition you get to go through from open valley down into the canyon.

the guy on that property is a little crazy for sure. ive never had an incident with him before.

We shouldn't let them get too comfortable. I think the agreement is that below 700 CFS the land owners may put up some fences accross the river to stop cattle from wandering too much.
How much longer would this make the run? We're still planning on being up there Saturday if anyone wants to run the Taylor and Lake Fork

Our schedule is flexible and we'd be willing to do Lake Fork in the AM... what time are you heading out?

Also, is there any good places to camp near Red Bridge?

the best place around is Redbridge C.G. itself, right at the put in. If youre staying here you can do a couple runs on that stretch since you can put in at your campsite. If its full then there is a few campsites down the run itself, i think theyre all collectively called "Gateview C.G.", but theyre just random sites spaced down the length of the canyon.

i would float with you guys but im going to be on the colorado this weekend, so have fun
