Lake Fork Gunni questions

thinking about an easy float with some fishing this w/e on the Lake Fork Box with the small raft. i don't know the lay of the land well in the area, but have read past posts about some of the private land owner issues. any local advice on the following would be appreciated:

- at the current flows of 400 +/-, can the LF Box be navigated in a 12' oar rig? our other choice would be R2 (no fishing) in the culebra.
- what are the best put in and take out option(s) for the run to avoid conflicts?
- are there any known man-made obstructions such as fences, bridges, etc. that currently create a forced portage and issues with the land owner(s)?
- other beta or local info i should be aware of?

ultimately i want to be respectful of the land owner issues in the area, and do not want to create conflict. if the current status is elevated and should be avoided, i will likely just float elsewhere. thanks in advance.

It's good fishing at this level and you won't have a proble getting your boat down either. There is the stretch from town down to devils creek that is good to go. For that stretch put in at Memorial Park, driving into town going south cross Henson Creek bridge and go two blocks and take a left at Poker Alice Pizza put in is strait ahead. There are two take outs... One is heading north outta town a few miles and you will drop into a little canyon and the take out is a few corners down... Kinda hidden in the trees but good take out. The other is farther down through the canyon you will start to go out of it and there is a road on the right that goes down to the Devils Creek Trail.
The other sections farther down have some trees in the river and I don't know if anyone has gone down this year.

I can't speak for this year (since we had big winds this winter), but I floated the Box last year at low flows and it was clear of strainers then....and considering we did it at around the same flow as now (but in July), I would say it would be very tough to get a raft down. The low flow runs into several walls on 90 degree turns and there simply isn't enough water to avoid it.

I bet it's great fishing if you hike in though...
