Lake Dillon glory hole lid???

There looks to be a lid/cap next to the Lake Dillon glory hole. Anybody know what it is about. I have lived here for a few years and I have never seen it before.

they put the lid on in the winter time. it's allways just sitting there when it's not over the glory hole.

Weird!! I have been here 5 years and never noticed it. Thanks I was wondering how they used it.
