Kids Kayak Club - Meyer's pool

I just wanted to inform everyone about the new Kids Kayak Club that we are hosting along with CW at the Meyer's pool. We will be meeting other sundays from 3-5, schedule is below. We will split the kids into two groups based on age and experience. Ages 8-17 are welcome.
This is a great way to introduce kids to kayaking and get them some professional instruction. All skill levels are welcome. Coaches will be Kyle McCutchen and myself. We will work on wet exits, paddle strokes, bracing, rolling, t-rescues, playboating skills, etc. etc. We have lots of fun games to make sure the kids have a great time and learn to kayak at the same time.

Gear: Bring your own gear if you have it. We will have some gear, but it is limited. Rentals are available at local shops as well.

Cost: Free!! the only cost is the $7 entry fee to the meyers pool.

Sign up: please contact us to let us know if you are coming and whether or not you have gear. If you decide to come last minute, please just show up.

Schedule: (2/24, 3/9, 4/6, 4/20, 5/3 )

Please come down with your kids and have some fun in the pool. We look forward to having a good club that will continue to grow in years to come. Thank you all for supporting the Club and the Rocky Mountain Junior Kayak League.

Darn, just saw the post and I missed the 2/24 session. My son would have loved to go. I'll try to make it on 3/9.

Thanks for doing this.

Do you guys have kids' boats, or should I just bring the smallest playboat in the quiver?

there are some kid's boats, but I would bring your smallest playboat in case they are all taken.

What a nice class for the kids

Went yesterday and took Henry. He had a blast. It was good for him to paddle with other kids closer to his age. Also gave me a good indicator of where he is at compared to his peers.

Nick did a great job with the kids and worked with Henry on his hand rolls. If anybody out there has kids who are interested in kayaking, Nick is the guy to see about getting them involved.

And the Lord said, let there be whitewater. So on Friday, the 13th day of the month....
