Damn fine little morsel, thanks for verbalizing what so many of us feel

By the way Bob, you can kayak in the Northwest when it rains too. Not dependent on Snow always...

Sometimes it's simply the best way to paddle. Keeps me more connected.

Thinking about 14 hours of driving through snow, to meet 9 dedicated paddlers in the most arid desert landscape, driving 4wd roads lost, drinking beers in Cleator, hiking from the top of a mtn down a snow covered trail to a creek that we have yet to actually see with the probability of getting over-nighted looming in denial, cactus, awful portages, one of the coldest nights I've ever spent in the wilderness, swirling around at the lip of a falls with your bro hoping that one of you can get to an eddy to scout, blind drops, pitons, cacti, and I figured I should bump this because about 20-30 moves/boofs on Poland Creek made it all worth it. Kayaking is the shit.

Indeed a religion

Let us pray:

Dearest Probe
Wearing Goretex and elbow pads
Very sick is this run.

We ran the drops
Made the eddies
To your leadership, we give mad props

Grant us dry hair
Steady braces
And may we all hit our rolls

As we paddle down stream
"HELL YEA" we will scream
Looking forward to cold beer.

Okay, I'm no poet, but you get the picture...

Growing old is mandatory... growing up is optional

OK so I'm sitting here with a good rum buzz surfing kayak shit on the web and I read this and feel the need to put in my 2 cents..I'm 60 yrs old and been doin this since 1973 and I love it today as much, if not more than when I started....I haven't ever and won't ever run the shit that many of you have, but I have pushed my own envelope...I have sat in the eddy above the waterfall, made and missed the must make moves, and you're is the shit!. But, I just gotta remind you guys and gals, it's about more than class's about the rivers...moving water....there's nothing else like it and you don't need class V to feel it....the skills you have developed can last well beyond your youth and continue to take you to places and experiences that make kayaking the beautiful thing that it is. I ain't what I used to be, but I can tell you that on any given day, there's no place I'd rather be than on a river. Keep on keepin on!
