There is a sweet run just north of FlagStaff. Go north and there is a big park a ways out of town, can't remember the name. You can park your car there. There is a trail called the Bright Angel Trail, ask around and you'll find it. You have to hike in a little bit but when you get down, you'll see a sweet river channeling through a pretty nice little canyon. Not sure what river that is but it's a fun run. You may want to bring plenty of bannanas as I believe it's an overnighter.

kayak az

You can also go to the verde river about an hour south of flag on I 17 there are many stretches of fun kayaking and rafting depending on how many days. Try perkinsville to white horse or besly flats to childs is a good overnighter or childs to sheeps bridge for multy days. be cautious of the drive out of sheeps bridge though. Water flows vary and I think you missed the floods already. The only thing running real good right now would be the upper salt and thats not real close to Flagstaff but good luck.
