I am a Canoeist that has been deemed to paddle Kayaks on creeks in Colorado for fear of breaking my paddle blade off (happened a few times before I decided to switch). The off side brace in the mank out here does not happen in a C-1. Back East having a higher center of gravity was sweet with smooth creek beds and drop pool style drops. Class V creeking in a C-1 out here is pretty freaking hairy.

My conversion from a C-1 paddler to a Kayaker has been pretty darn easy actually! I now only C-1 class IV and lower since I do not have a creek boat set up this way. I still suck in a kayak for playboating and mainly C-1 when I playboat.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
