Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous how the unmanaged, unplanned growth machine has panned out here in the west. People like to tout the successes of individual free market capitalism, but there's no long term vision in that.
Now we've painted ourselves into a corner, and virtually the entire west is thirsty for water. Our communities depend on water and fight over it. Richer cities steal water (through political avenues) from poorer regions (I'm looking at you, Patricia Mulray). It won't ever get better.
