Post per an email from one of the event directors:
After some discussion and negotiation, it has been decided that the Junior Olympics will be in Lyons at Meadow Park and the Black Bear Hole (across from the Black Bear Inn). Please note that both these venues are different from the October Hole.
The rough schedule is as follows: Thursday Sprint Slalom at Meadow Park, Friday Sladeo (rodeo/slalom) at Meadow Park, Saturday Rodeo at the Black Bear Hole, Sunday Downriver from Apple Valley Bridge to the Black Bear Hole, Monday Slalom first two runs, Tuesday Slalom final.
This is a complex event and you can still register on line at 2011 North American Whitewater Junior Olympics - Golden Colorado July 14-20, 2011
Please note that the schedule and information on the website will change due to the change of venues.
There will also be registration the day before the slalom events.
There will be open practice at Meadow Park and the Black Bear Hole starting tomorrow. The Meadow Park course is running quite briskly, and this should be an exciting, fun venue for this event. This course is faster and higher volume than when we raced in Golden in May, but it is way more friendly than the FIBArk and Golden course.
We will also be needing volunteers for the slalom events, and if you are interested in helping out and you are available on one or more of those days, please contact me.
I apologize for how late this coordinating email is, but I I believe this will be a fun event.
All Best Wishes
