i'd say stress impact. i've seen a lot of Jeffe's crack over the past few seasons... like 10 +. some on maiden voyages. that being said, we also paddle some of the mankiest sh!t on the FrontRange and most of the boats my buddies paddle are Jefe's b/c they love the design. with an exception of a few the crack is usually in the exact same spot... just under the seat to the side of the hull, about 5 inches long. that seems to be the pattern i've seen. it's in a real bad spot to weld and often results in a new hull.
it's kinda like the days when everyone paddled the Micro 240, they loved the design so much they would put up with having to buy new hulls every season. and i think the Micros usually cracked in a similar spot if not the exact. i agree, the design is good, it makes paddling Class V smooth and I too would paddle one if they didn't weigh 3 times as much as my Salto. and yeah i paddle a Salto b/c the plastic is bomber much more than i like the design.
