Is Didymo a Problem in Colorado?

So far, didymo is listed here in the US as an aquatic nuisance. In NZ it's getting to be a major butt kicker...

Around 30 rivers in the South Island are now affected. So far, it has not made it to the North Island but my guess is that it will soon.

We in the US should make ourselves more aware of this algae.

This is all good info.

I think you are on to something that we as boaters are probably not helping in any way of stopping the spread of any of these critters.

Something to consider would be to have the folks that put on paddling events contact someone from the DOW fishery dept or something along those lines to host a booth with all the information about this topic.

Think about all the boaters that would be contacted if there was information at Teva, FIBark, Lyons, Golden, Animas, and so forth.

I know that I never wash my stuff after every trip and jump around to different rivers probably spreading whirling disease everywhere.
