I saw one at a take out on the South Fork of the American River a couple weeks ago. I did not see him go down. Until I saw this video, I thought it was designed to be used like a boogie board. I see I was mistaken.

Appears to be a pretty big risk to your legs to me...broken or foot entrapment seems inevitable imo

It never ceases to amazes me , the things that people will put them selves thru to get on the river , even though they have claustrophobia issues with getting in a kayak.

It looks like someone took the whitewater swim position and added flotation to it. We should have some buzzards with the appropriate skill set to pretty dominant at that.
