Looked thru a bunch of kayak mags last night trying to find the article about Corran's hydrofoil.Never found the article ,but did find a picture of him on it;it's a metal planing wing on about a two foot pole attached to the boat directly below the seat.He is being towed leaning back about two feet above the surface of the water.
I came across another article about Shaun Baker,UK,a kayak daredevil and holder of some Guinness records.Baker built a mototized kayak from a surfboard motor{?} with a jet ski impeller, steered by paddle, that he thinks can do 62 mph. They mentioned Corrans record of being towed 50mph.Baker plans to add a kicker to accelerate off standing waves cop massive air ,do an aerial manouver and land farther down the wave train,YIKES!The stunt was scheduled for earlier this year, anyone know what became of it.

blutzskis 2-boat method is worth a shot, but i've surfed a wake behind one big-ass boat going fairly slow- tons of fun... the lower Rogue River allows jet boats, and the pilots know what speed to run their wide-ass boats to build up a huge pile wave... if you're paddling one of the flat-water sections and can get a jet boat to do it, you can surf downstream for a couple miles with the tourists snapping photos and shootin' vids of you. good ego boost.

4 out of 3 people have trouble with fractions.
