How are the Lyons Holes right now?

Can anyone give me some info. on the Lyons holes, specifically the two across from the Black Bear and the new one downstream? Are they good right now? I see the gauge for the new hole in the green, but the six other gauges for various st. vrain drainages don't clue me in to how the two at black bear are doing. Are they good to go? What are the flow ranges for those two, and which gauge is that based off of?

Thanks
Chris

Are there features above the Black Bear holes? Wasn't there a slalom course at one point? Is that still there?

Yes, a group did have a slalom race there last year. There are 9 more drops in Meadow Park. Take a left at the end of the downtown area and then a right 1 block later. Very scenic WWP. It is 1/2 of the flow of the BB Hole. There are a few drops where you can get some ends and strern squirts. It is great for beginners. At higher flows there is one drop that works pretty well for loops and cartwheels.

Thanks, Arn. Do you know if the slalom gates are hanging right now, or do they just go up for the race?

There are no gates hanging. They get torn pretty quick by the tubers and weekend park users.

tried out the Lyons holes yesterday @ 520 on the October hole gauge. The three big ones are very flushy. You can get a few ends, but it is tough to stay in there if you are trying to throw down anything at all. Not really worth the drive, even from Boulder.

Reverse psychology? Like calling Greenland Greenland and Iceland Iceland?
