Hobie, Can you answer a Kingpin ?
Hobie or whomever else can answer this question,
My roommate and myself have been paddling dagger kingpins for about four years now. We recently purchased new kingpin icons and have encountered some interesting things. Both of our feet (my whole leg) are painfully falling asleep. I know thins sounds like a whiny complaint, but the reason I even care is that in the past three years of being in a kingpin I thought it was the most comfortable boat ever, more so than my creek boat. I never had my foot fall asleep. Now it happens, seriously, in about five minutes. My roommate also thinks his feels different (a little more squirly) than his old one. He is in a 6.2, I am in a 6.3. He used to paddle the older pre-icon version with inflatable hip pads, I paddled the icon w/ inflatable hip pads and the pods. We haven't grown or gained any weight and have tried using the new riser, moving the seat, stretching before getting in, just about anything.
I guess the question is, when you guys made the new boats with no holes below waterline and a molded seat rail, did something change in the actual boat's design? Any reason why this is happening? I would love to race Gore again in the kingpin but I can't do it if my leg is asleep by applesauce.
