I don't normally ask or keep a record of who rolls up on what side. All I ask is that it works most of the time. I don't know that I've ever seen rolling sides discussed as part of the pre-run briefing, either.

The incident in this video was just a fortuitous anomaly. Until last Saturday, I'd never succeeded in using the technique, and that was my second of the day.

In this particular case, she mentioned after rolling up that she was having trouble getting up because she was rolling into the wall. Her setup was on that side, and when she pulled she was bumping her head.

I happened to land right there, knew this was a step up run for her, knew she'd swam 5 minutes earlier at the first drop and I figured the wall was giving her trouble. While I could have just as easily kept moving, I figured the Hand of God was worth a shot.

(Whenever I fail to paddle upright, I try to just feel what the water is doing around me and react with a roll on whichever side I feel is more advantageous at the time.)
This is great! I wish my off side was so bomber that I didn't notice it was my offside!!!!
