i wonder what issues will be brought up? we talked to a guy earlier this summer - bill something, he said he was a member of the group that oversees the gunny water use here locally, im not sure of its actual name- that stopped and talked to us as we were putting on right under the 50 bridge, and he asked us what we had to say about the two dams on either side of the park. he said boaters (specifically rafters) had been complaining about getting stuck on the first dam. i have never had a problem floating a raft over that except at low water. i dont know if you would call it a true boat chute, but there is that passage on river center right and we told him its pretty much up to the boaters to make that passage. they were cool enough to put it there, so its up to us to use it.
the other thing he asked us was about psychadelic, we all pretty much agreed, while it is a fun rapid, it is out of place on an otherwise class II+ stretch of river, and that a definite easy chute through it is necessary. we told him (jokingly, but also very serious on another lever) that they should make a chute with a wave at the bottom. shitty access, but at least another hole for the boaters.
or are they talking about modifications to the park itself? if Lacy was invovled then i guess so....
