Grizzly Creek run on the Colorado at current levels

Headed up to the mtns for the fourth of july week and was going to throw the wife in a ducky on the grizzly creek run, but not sure what it is like at current levels. OK for a newbie in a ducky? I know its fine at lower levels, but it looks to be cranking up there right now.

Any other beginner runs to consider on the I-70 cooridor? We're staying in Eagle.

Grizzly Run

Grizzly is not too bad at these flows. It is fast compared to normal water levels and easy to loose gear if you take a long swim. Beware of Maintenence Rapid, on a left bed about a mile below Grizzly. It forms a large haystack that can knock over kayakers and duckyers. Stop by CCK 910 Grand Ave in Glenwood if you are going to be around, we are having a big sale that weekend!

Anybody run the actual Grizzly Creek. Looks like less wood/trees the further up you go but never seen it with quite enough H20.

Actual grizzly Creek

Did the bottom 3/4 mile and walked twice-- a single log you probably could get under, and a double log combo you definitely could not get past. Put on just below where it got steeper and there was another log you could probably get under, but w/ increasing difficulty of the rapids it seemed like a bad idea. Two guys I was with both swam within sight of the bridges at the end-- nice carnage for the fans
