Grande Ronde Storm

Was anyone else on the Grande Ronde for the storm that hit Friday?

If so how did your group fare?

We were at the fish ladder camp. The wind knocked our tables over and turned the whole kitchen on its head. When the wind got really bad our tables went flying, and so did a kayak. The wind also took out all my tent poles, damaged another tent, knocked over a drybox, and blew open my cooler that someone had not latched down.

That was about the time the grape sized hail hit.

We recovered one table a couple hundred yards away, and the other one about a mile downstream. The kayak was turned into the sheriffs office and returned to us the next day. My tent was unusable, but we had a Noahs tarp that we put to good use later.

We heard stories of rafts in trees, and stranded on the beach.

answered my own question, it must be the old acclimation site just down from mud creek a bit

Sorry it took me a while to get back to this.

That sounds about right. It was about half a mile downstream from Powatka Bridge on river left. My buddy's old river map showed a camp there and noted that a fish ladder was there as well. A acclimation site would make more sense though based on where it was and the fact that it was oddly shaped for a fish ladder.
