Grand Canyon Burn

How one woman turned a trip of a lifetime into a trip to hell down the Grand Canyon.

Pretty nice article on how a bad attitude can ruin a trip. Well written.

I bet there are many stories of strange behaviour on river trips. It's a good topic for a winter thread.......

Been there but not that far

Ouch. Doesn't sound like a good trip. Who needs to bond in an atmosphere like that? Hard to imagine that the PH had the concentration to remain on the waiting list for all of those years.

Had a similar trip with a divorce, a psycho, and Captain Bligh. Hard to mutiny when the only way to go is downstream.

Grand Canyon is the best for bringing out the personality quirks. 18 days is a long time...

Last Grand trip (May 2004) was by far my best trip, just a collection of "drug of choice" enhanced adults. Can't wait to go again...

the ditch....i got dumped twice on my trip!(i'm not talking about popping out of a raft!).hhehehahahahah hehahahah- 1st time for running HANCE, naked, kinda altered in the cranium, in the dark, at 25,000 cfs, down the right side, twice! ...i think i was inventing new moves in the monster holes in my Hurricane...OK, it was STUPID..... but SUPERF*#%ING fun! she didn't have to dump me over it, but she did....2nd time was for NOT running the slot, to the right of CHEESEGRADER ROCK(bottom right of LAVA) i did make it into the eddy and noticed a full sized dory crushed, folded and stuffed into the slot!!! we had 30,000+ that day of muddy water...thankful i didn't try to run it.....being in the eddy was rad enough since i had to share it with 4 or 5 monster-motorized-j-rigs....getting surfed around in the eddy, i earned a couple beers doing rolls then escaped the overcrowded "eddy".....she had called me a part of a women's body and then insisted i let her follow me down the middle left...funny awsome river trip despite being dumped and reunited a couple of times and gettin' stung by one of the little clear looking scorpions.....ouch!!!! thought i was gonna get eppi-pinned....GRAND CANYON 90201
