What it takes depends on the river, time of year and water level. If I'am going float fishing, I take my fishing pole and cooler full of beer and hope for clear water. If I'am going sight-seening and camping, I take my camera and BBQ. If I'am going out to get- some, like Cat at 40+ cfs, I take my big PFD, extra tie down straps and Viagra.
