I have seen someone do this cut (I assume that's the one referred to here, that cuts a bend in the river) in years past and timed the amount of time it took to paddle from their egress to ingress points. It takes 11 minutes to casually paddle that section. I suspect running across takes a few minutes, so it's probably 5-10 minutes of time saved - pretty minimal, endangers our access to the area, and makes the lawyers you're paddling with uncomfortable.
