Just thought I'd follow-up on my own question for future information seekers. San Juan Inn does provide water refills from their outside spigots, charged us a flat $1 for all the water we wanted. They also have ice, soda, beer, etc. Tie up at their beach/picnic area just past the bridge, and the walk is MUCH shorter than hiking to the highway from the main ramp in town. I remember the road up from the main ramp being half a mile or so; at SJI it is more like 200 yards.

Not only is the SJ is pretty silty, but I think that the water treatment plant in Mexican Hat discharges directly into the rio. I usually carry my own water. But there are usually a few tribs with dependable water. Oljeto, Slickhorn, and Grand Gulch come to mind.

Moki's pretty cool, but should be a piece of cake for you CO folks. Honaker's not bad. 90 minute RT is certainly possible for those in good shape, and I've seen folks that took 90 each way. Don't miss the hike up Oljeto Wash either.
