Google Earth

just had a great geek-out moment with this new program from Google (old Keyhole satallite mapping tool). Check it out, you can scout rivers from your PC!! j/k the images aren't quite that good (non-military restrictioned) and they aren't up to date, but you can see rapids and takeouts and wierd stuff hiding behind mountains. pretty cool stuph -t

Maybe better yet, check out worldwind.com

I can't get it because I have a Mac and it's only Windows but from what I've seen on their home page, this thing is better than keyhole.

Compare it and let us know...

PS I've been scouting rivers via terraserver for a while...
Here's Gore Canyon...

Word, that google earth shit freaked me out when my buddy sent me a pretty clear image of my house with my car in the driveway. He wrote, "Big brother has always been watching, just now little brother is too."

Not for mac, though, so I'm sol. Whatever, microsoft sucks.

Ole Rivers- worldwind.com just takes me to a search site. can't find anything on it related to satallite imagery. are you sure that's what it's called?

using the tilt button you can fly down the rivers!!!

if anyone wants to check out Bailey Canyon, Four Falls, go to 39deg 23'16.52" N by 105deg 25' 18.78" W

go down real close, tilt it on side and you can see the whole drop. fly down the rapid until you can see the wood pile river left just above the 3rd drop!!! this is too cool...
