I was recently on a Westwater Canyon overnight on the 19th and 20th of April. While we were having lunch I noticed my friend was a bit cold and unprepared. I grabbed him my extra dry top from my gear bag so he could stay warm, as it was around 55 degrees and the water was a bit cooler. After lunch at Miner's Camp we floated to Lower Little D. After setting up camp a buddy and I wanted to try and surf my BRAND NEW MINI-MAX!! I then noticed that I had forgotten my gear bag on the beach we had lunch on. So now, no dry top for the rapid section let alone for my future kayaking adventures. When it came time to run day two, a 14 foot Paddle Raft, guided by my roommate, flipped in Skull! Followed by a 14 foot Oar Frame who was laughing at the boat that had flipped in front of him!!!! In all 8 out of 18 swam Skull. But not the people who scouted it. I made it through Westwater on my BRAND NEW MINI-MAX without any sort of mishap. The whole trip thought I was going to flip the boat with 4 of us in it but no...... Any way, the trip was amazing as usual and I ended up waiting for a group I saw up river. Oh yea, they had my gear bag!!!!!! Big THANK YOU to the group that found it. You are due for something very good on the river in the future!
