Gonna be in the Boulder area, need advice

I'm gonna be in boulder for a week starting June 25. Was wondering what runs would be good to catch. I've been paddling the middle Ocoee in TN and would be comfortable up to that size. Will be in playboats but if room permits will have our creekboats also. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanx

You should (hopefully) have some good options around then. Unfortunately I do not know anyone who considers the play park in Boulder to be that great or anything less than bad for playboating - as far as Boulder summer scenery it can be quite nice and worth a float Boulder Creek and the close drainage's do offer some fun sections for whitewater depending on if you bring the creek boats or not.

Closest play parks:
-Sections of the platte if we get a rainstorm
-If you go to the Ark check in on the parks in BV and Salida for sure, even Canon City now too

Closest good runs with some great play (level dependent) and multiple put in and take out options:
-Poudre in Fort Collins
-Clear Creek in Golden
-Arkansas in BV

You got about all you want within a couple hour drive in my opinion, can also add in stuff in Summit County, Vail/Gwood/Aspen area if you wanna drive a little more.

This is a great resource:

Kayaking Information

Run descriptions, flows, put in take out information. Check it out, or if you want recommendations for specific runs post how far you are willing to drive and what class you want to run - usually get some helpful responses.
