Golden's Library Hole Question

Why is some water flowing surfers left and not into the hole like usual? Last year at these levels all of Clear Creek flowed into the hole now some is flowing surfers left. Do you need to pile rocks to get the water to flow into the hole or did something a little more substantial happen?

This is all second hand information, but I heard that some kids got in trouble behind the rocks on river right. To make it 'safer' they pushed over the big rock that was causing the flow to be directed towards the middle of the river. It makes it quite different. No idea on who did it or if they are planning on leaving it like that.
