I think it's 6-8:30 and you pay RA guides. I doubt you will have a problem getting a spot at this point, but you pay the same amount to reserve online and they won't turn you away. I think the pond outside the rec center is open for kayaking if your friend is comfortable with bow rescues and goose shit, it might be the better/cheaper way to do it.
