Golden Community RODEO Series-MAY 13th---YES----it is on.

The Golden Community Rodeo is back and this year we're going to hold three events! These rodeos will have an Expert, Intermediate, and Sport class and like last year, each event will give prizes for fun categories like most swims, burliest boater, and best dressed!

The events will be held in Golden (in the best hole at the water level) on the following dates, each starting at 5:30pm, Please be early for registration:

-May 13 (Thur)

-May 26 (Wed) - this event will be the qualifier for the East Team that will be invited to compete at the TEVA Mountain Games in the East/West competition the following weekend. This event will also follow with a small celebration at one of the area venues (within walking distance).

-and TBA

There is no entry fee for any of these events. We will have a jar out for donations that will go to the Clear Creek Whitewater Festival and the Clear Creek Whitewater Park, if you feel so inclined.

We will have a men's and women's series winner based on the combination of scores for finishes in the rodeo and points for any fun categories too!

These events will be held in the same spirit as last year's - we hope everyone feels welcomed to compete, at all levels. The supportive environment that we feel everyday on the river is one we want to transfer into the rodeo scene. We have prizes donated from throughout the Golden community - they are proud of their course and happy to support the boaters that come to Golden to play!

So far, we have prizes from Woody's, Golden Natural Food Store, Golden City Brewery, Ptarmagins, Arapahoe Basin, Buffalo Rose, Sportsman Barber Shop, J.Lawrence Signature Salon, Bolder Boulder, Safeway, Santiago's Mexican Buffet, Stohlquist, Tony Rigatoni's, Mountain Miser, Alpenglow, and Renaissance Adventure Guides.

So, new or seasoned - come and show off a little. We encourage you to bring friends and anyone who might be interested in watching and/or participating.

The Best/Most Swim(s) - legitimate swims only please!!
Grugiest/Burliest Boater
Best Pigtails

Dang it's getting cold out there. Raining cats & dogs both at home & up here at left hand. It'll kinda be miserable tomorrow and that's why we park the cars so close by....BUT, I heard Danielle & Mr. C1 have some pretty sweet boootie for prizes. In fact, I know they do. They've been hard at work putting this thing together so make sure you come on out. It's going to be fun & there's some serious schwag. Gotta paddle in all the comps to win though (for most of the really good stuff)

Beautiful & sunny skies here in Golden this morning with 10% humidity. We'll have some tents to provide you with some shade to get out of that hot sun this afternoon so come join us at the 1st Golden Community Rodeo of the season this afternoon.

I just wanted to plug the sponsors again, because they have been so generous. At each rodeo, we will be giving prizes for the top three competitors in each class (and the 1st place expert prize is as valuable as the 1st place sport prize) and prizes for the "fun" categories. We will have overall winners as well. The first place for sport will get as many points as the first place for expert, so no matter what class you enter, you will be eligible for these prizes as overall winner, and yes, they are outstanding prizes.

Nice & chilly in there. Bring your beanies & poagies. The water level is good though. I'd guess right about 250cfs by now (it's been coming up sloooowly).

We'll have a good bit of shelter out there as well as tunes thanks to Rental City up in Boulder / Gunbarrel. It's going to be a good time. Don't forget to bring a warm change of clothing though.
