Gettin' Coin for a good cause: EddyFlower Vertical Challenge and First Descents

As teams are getting organized we wanted to let everyone know about 2 resources we have available for you to raise money for First Descents as part of the EddyFlower Vertical Challenge. In the resources you'll find:

Tips and techniques to writing a successful solicitation for donations letter
Competition summary to include with your solicitation letter
So set a goal, write a letter and raise some funds for a truly worthy cause! So far the person who raises the most money for First Descents will be receiving a Dagger Nomad Creek boat … size of your choice!
Use this link for more details: http://www.eddyflower.com/VerticalChallenge.aspx

For those of you who have not heard about Vertical Challenge, it’s a simple competition, you and your paddling buddies paddle as many runs as you can endure from May 15 – June 15. At the end of the 30 days, the teams with the most vertical feet in each division are crowned champions. Open to all paddlers, from all states, of all skill levels. Teams started registering last week!

Prizes include: Dagger boat, Kokatat drytops, Aqua Bound Paddles, WRSI helmets, Tech4O watches, KEEN footwear, Voz Sports shaders, Paddling Life schwag and Funnel videos. Special thanks to Alpenglow for picking up a big chunk of the event costs.

Start planning!

Cheers,
EddyFlower

Rip-off the idea without asking the creator?

Contact Ben@steepcreeks.com

Can't believe you solicited sponsors with the TVF idea under your own name without so much as asking if it was OK. This is an original idea and you've obviously been copying rules from the TVF website.

Have some class - credit your sources or it's plagerism.

Don't get too worked up over this...

I spoke with Ben from Steepcreeks a few months ago and received his blessing to move forward with the EddyFlower Vertical Challenge, we even agreed to add steepcreeks logo on the event as the founders of the TVF concept....

The bottom line is these guys have done an amazing job over the years and have pioneered a very cool concept, Ben deserves some serious props for tvf!

I spoke with Ben again today and we have agreed to work together to make the events even bigger...on a national level...

Great concept, glad to see it used like it is.

We at Dagger are happy to support the event and what it represents. I want to say thank you to the folks at eddyflower for putting it together as well as helping Brad's First Descents camp. Also, thanks to Ben for such a cool concept in contests. Hats off, awesome idea. Good luck to everyone and thanks again for the support you all are extending to FD.
