I got a XXX for $200 and a used pfd & paddle I could throw in for $100 with that he'd be halfway there. Its a great deal if your buddy isn't a very big person.

the xxx is perfect for smaller paddlers like women, its a small boat. I'm 5'9 165 and am a little uncomfortable in it but it I was 5'7 or shorter and I didn't have fat legs it would be perfect. The gear i unisex, most gear is. no obligation just letting you know
