If you're registered for the GC lottery, and don't get one of these pretty soon, better check in with the River Office to get dialed back into the system.
Dear _____ _______, (user name: ____ )
We hope you are well and enjoying the spring. We are sending you this note to let you know that we will be holding the 2008 main lottery this May.
Online applications will be accepted from May 1st through 12:00 noon on May 28th, and the lottery drawings will take place on May 31st.
Only interested applicants need apply. Whether or not you apply, your lottery chances will remain valid until you win a trip through the lottery or participate on another trip (noncommercial or commercial) through the canyon. Applying through the lottery costs $25, paid online at the time the application is submitted.
A total of 213 trips will be available through this lottery for calendar year 2008 launches: 41 of these are for small size (1 to 8 person) trips and the rest are for standard size (1 to 16 person) trips. A calendar showing the available dates and the dates that have already been filled can be previewed through our website at:
Launches marked as "Taken" on the calendar were filled by old deferments, claimed as part of the transition from the old waitlist system to the present lottery system, or filled by former waitlist members who qualified for special adaptive management assistance. More details are available through our FAQ page at

If you cannot remember your password, you can have it reset and sent to the email email address you listed in your lottery profile by completing the form at: https://npspermits.us/grandcanyon/river/forgotLogin.cfm
. If you
need help submitting an application online or navigating the website, please send us an email to email@example.com
or call 1-800-959-9164. We are happy to help.
You have been sent this courtesy email in response to the preferences you indicated when setting up your profile which has a username of "___". You can change your preferences, address, and email accounts any time by logging into your account. If you have received two or more emails listing different login names, this issue needs to be resolved immediately, before the lottery.
In the lottery system, people may each have only one account; a lottery winner having more than one account may have their winning trip revoked. If you act soon, before the lottery, resolving this issue is easy and harmless. Just send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
, include the login name of the profile you want deleted, and ask us to delete the account.
We hope you have a great year and wish good luck to all who apply in the lottery.
P.S. We plan on holding the calendar year 2009 main lottery in February 2008.
