Free of Ice?

Can anyone confirm that the Colorado is free of ice at Rancho Del Rio. Was thinking of float fishing down there this weekend. Thanks.

You may want to try floating from Grizzley Creek down (could be blocked at No-Name) or below Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Spgs.

I was able to float from Two Rivers Park to South Canyon last year in January.

Thanks for the replies. If I go this weekend I'll post if it's open.

Shoshone is clear as of Tuesday afternoon. I have it from a trusted source that 4 boaters were observed to be launching for a shosho run at around 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.

I did drive a short section of the Colorado River Road north of Dotsero, no ice observed there. The area near State Bridge is probably not as open, and could be subject to increased icing.

Brody, if you make your way up here, send me an email. Bring your kayak and we can make a shosho run - I will be around both Saturday and Sunday. Also if you want to make a weekend of it you can stay with us either Friday or Saturday night. Later.
