Foxton at current levels in an IK?

I've only run Foxton a few times in the past, always in a hardshell, and never at current levels (probably between 250-300 in the past). Based on those experiences, I wouldn't consider it a great tandem inflatable kayak run...a bit too technical for the slow-maneuvering of an IK. Wondering if at current levels enough rocks are covered up that less maneuvering is required, and thus would make an enjoyable IK adventure? I would plan to start below the boulder garden.

I think you'll be good to go. Take a look at it as you run shuttle. You'll see some lines to avoid with an IK. It would probably be good to team up with someone in a hardshell for saftey.

Good to Go!

Ran Foxton at 650 3 wks ago in my solo Hyside IK and it was very manageable. Loads of fun, maybe too easy. I have run it as high as 600 in my hard boat, and the Hyside was twice as easy, without a question. Many of the lines were much easier at 600 than they are at 300, IMHO, so much so, that a tandem would not be out of the question as long as both paddlers were familiar/confident with the line, consequences and class III w/IV consequence swimming. Of course if you skipped the boulder garden it is that much easier, but that's 1/2 the fun though isn't it. Catch Waterton afterwards for a sweet waterslide of finish to your day. Cheers, Dan
